Life is all about the little moments and we will be sure to capture it here with you.
Everything that you’ll need for this season will be listed here, please read thoroughly!
Introduction
All-star cheerleading is a sport with a combination of tumbling, stunting, dance, passion, jumps, and motions.
How are teams decided?
Teams consist of various restrictions of age, rules, skills, and abilities. Our gym primarily focuses on levels 1-4 and look forward to competing at the higher levels soon. Our tryouts will be May 17th, 2025. Signing Day is June 14th when Season Commitment document is signed.
-
ELITE teams are athletes who perform in a very fast-paced, professionally choreographed 2 and ½ minute routine of nonstop movement and motions.
-
PREP routines are just slightly slower paced than ELITE but still bring excitement and are 2 minutes long.
-
NOVICE routines are for very beginner athletes and are 1 and ½ minutes long.
Competitions
ELITE routines compete anywhere from November to the end of April. They will compete against gyms across the nation to fight for their chance to compete at All-Star Worlds (ASW) in Orlando, FL. These routines will compete anywhere from 5-8 competitions a season usually.
PREP & NOVICE routines primarily compete locally. Their competitions will also be held through the months of November to the end of April. These routines average about 5 competitions a season.
What Level is my Athelete?
Level
one
PREP Level 1 athletes are beginning to learn back walkovers. They have already mastered their cartwheels, round-offs, and bridge kick-overs.
ELITE Level 1 athletes have mastered all their Level 1 skills and have started learning their back handspring (BHS). They are focusing on improving their jumps, but they can completely contribute to a 2 and 1/2 minute routine that includes all stunting.
Level
two
ELITE level 2 athletes are now focusing on tucks, having mastered their standing BHS and multiple round-off BHSs with excellent execution. They can integrate their level 1 tumbling skills into their level 2 skills effortlessly. At this level, stunting becomes significantly more challenging, so tumbling technique should not pose any problems. The primary progression at this level involves stunting. Athletes should be fully confident in performing a fast-paced 2 and 1/2 minute routine and should be able to execute their back handspring flawlessly.
Level
three
Elite Level 3 athletes practice layouts and standing tucks without spots. They have mastered the round-off back BHS tuck, standing series BHS, punch front, and aerial. Jumps to BHS and Elite Level 2 stunting progressions are expected.
Athletes should be mentally prepared for an Elite Level 3 routine, which will be fast-paced and challenging. Stunting will occur above the head, requiring increased strength and flexibility. The mental aspect of coaching is heightened, and athletes are expected to demonstrate high self-discipline. This level represents a significant increase in difficulty for both tumbling and stunting.
Level
four
Elite Level 4 athletes have started learning twisting skills with little to no spot. They have mastered the round-off back BHS layout, standing series BHS to tuck, punch front stepouts, and onodi. Jumps to BHS tuck and Elite Level 3 stunting progressions are expected.
Athletes should be mentally prepared for an Elite Level 4 routine, which will be fast-paced and challenging just like a level 3. Stunting heavily weighs on flyers ability to be confident and continued strength and flexibility.
At level 4, the commitment from athlete and parent truly changes. Everyone must be all in and ready for extra work, extra practice, and anything it takes to get the job done.
The general rule is that an athlete should be working on skills at a higher level than they are competing in.
